The Mertz Brothers at Emily's Roadhouse

The Mertz Brothers are Dan Dick, Steve Marcus, and Phil Kissinger. Their sound ranges from the classic country of Hank Williams and classic rock of Chuck Berry to the contemporary rootsy sounds of Delbert McClinton and the Subdudes. Their heartfelt vocals together with their agile musicianship on acoustic, electric, resonator, and lap steel guitars, plus electric bass and percussion, produce a mellow and poignant sound that inspires and satisfies the soul.

Dan Dick grew up listening to Pete Seeger and Library of Congress folk recordings. More recently he has become enamored of resonator guitar and lap steel, which allow him to sing and swing with strings.

Steve Marcus' tasty licks and vocals add sizzle to the brothers' sound. Steve has endured the hard knocks of life on the road as a rock guitarist and singer. His knowledge of electric guitar lore is legendary. (Ask him about the difference between a 1953 and a 1954 Les Paul.)

Phil Kissinger anchors the band with his solid bass and nuanced vocal stylings. Phil is well-known from his extensive performances on the Boston folk circuit.

The concert will be in the barn at Emily's Roadhouse. Refreshments will be available.

Tickets will be available at the door: $10.
