The Peace Abbey Conference Center A unique venue for meetings, political actions,
performances, or your next conference, retreat or celebration.
The Peace Abbey Conference Center is situated at the intersection
of Routes 16 and 27 in the heart of Sherborn. The Conference Center
houses a wealth of material to the visitor, as well as the administration
offices of The Peace Abbey director and staff. As visitors enter
The Peace Abbey main entrance on Rt 16/27, the Conference Center
is the building to the left. Ample parking is available to the side
of the building and adjacent to the Veganpeace Animal Sanctuary barn.

Contained within the Conference Center is the Greenhouse Cafe,
The Pacifist Living History Museum, The Boston Vegetarian Resource
Library, the Coffeehouse performance venue and two meditation areas on the second floor. Located at the entrance of the Quaker Meeting Room next to the Peacemakers Table is the National Registry for Conscientious Objection which is available to sign when arranged in advance. The public is welcome to visit throughout the week, though group visits must be scheduled through the Abbey Office.
The Peace Abbey has welcomed guests and
visitors from throughout the world. We have had the privilege over
the years of welcoming Mother Teresa, Thich Nhat Hanh, Maya Angelou,
Muhammad Ali, Patch Adams, Daniel Berrigan, Arun and Sunanda Gandhi,
Howard Zinn, Julia Butterfly Hill, Camilo Mejia and his family
and Paula and Tatiana Rusesabagina from Rwanda.
Organizations that have had meetings and their annual retreats at the Abbey include:
Earthsave, Amnesty International, American Friends Service Committee, Families for Peaceful
Tomorrows, Wellesley College multi-faith Council, Greyhound Y2K
National Board of Trustees, Greyhound Friends of Hopkinton, Buddhist
Fellowship, Unitarian Universalist area churches, Young Friends
(Quakers), Yoga International, Military Families Speakout, Young Jains Association of Boston, the Hindu Student Union, Mass Action for Animals, and Veterans for Peace.
The Conference Center has a fully equipped kitchen and various spaces
suitable for ceremonies, such as weddings and civil unions, conferences,

THE
PACIFIST LIVING HISTORY MUSEUM Stewards at The
Peace Abbey serve as curators and archivists for the many relics,
personal affects, manuscripts and documents placed at the Abbey
by members of the Peace Movement, friends and supporters. Read More

SOCIAL JUSTICE LIBRARY The Peace Abbey library
contains one of the most comprehensive collections of books,
videos, and audio CD's on the subject of peace and social justice.
The library has sections within the Conference Center and also

QUAKER ROOM Members, friends, supporters and visitors
to The Peace Abbey are invited to share one hour of meditation
and prayer each Sunday morning in the Quaker room at the Conference
Center. It is a time for those who have been involved in the
work of peace and social justice to renew, connect and share

THE PEACEMAKERS
TABLE The students of The Life Experience School
gather weekly at the Peacemakers Table, joined by visitors and
honored guests including Maya Angelou, Mother Teresa, His Holiness
the Dalai Lama and mahammad Ali, to name just a few. Photgraphs
of our numerous visitors adorn the table.
THE
COFFEEHOUSE is situated in the lower level of the
Conference Center. The performance space has hosted dance recitals,
rock, folk and classical music concerts and film presentations.
The space seats upward of 150 and features our own PA system,
and projection screen. Amongst our regular coffeehouse performers
are Woodwork and Magical Strings.

National Registry for Conscientious Objection was created at
The Peace Abbey following the war in the Persian Gulf in early
