The Peace Abbey has a rich tradition of comforting the afflicted, afflicting the comfortable and alienating its funding sources.

The book about Emily the Cow's story is NOW available at the Abbey Gift Shop for $20.00 (all proceeds fund the care of her memorial). It is also available online at Barnes & Noble, Borders Books and Amazon.com. It chronicals Emily's life and is a beautiful story of how an animal that was about to become little more than hamburger meat, instead became food-for-thought for animal lovers throughout America and else where in the world.

A special thanks to Dan Everett and countless others for making it possible for Emily's story to be told in book form. It truly takes a village of animal lovers to produce a book like this! And hats-off to the MetroWest Daily News for embracing this story with such passion and conviction. The MetroWest Newsroom saved Emily's life.
