GEORGE HARRISON TRIBUTE AT STRAWBERRY FIELDS
December 2nd

On Sunday, December 2nd, a special tribute was held to honor George Harrison at The Peace Abbey.  As people gathered throughout the world to remember this man, his message, and his music, over 300 people from throughout New England gathered on the grounds of The Peace Abbey to do the same.

George Harrison although known best for his music has been called aspiritual explorer. One of his last messages to the world was "to love one another". Visitors came to celebrate his life and sign the MemorialBook and place flowers at the Strawberry Fields sign.

In the past The Peace Abbey has recognized The Beatles contribution with Sean Lennon's presence at The Courage of Conscience Award ceremonyin 1992 honoring John Lennon. A further connection to Harrison was made when STONEWALK 2001, the journey pulling the one ton memorial stone for civilians killed in war began at Strawberry Fields in Liverpool, England. Yoko Ono has been a friend supporting the mission and work of The Peace Abbey.
